Difference of dyed wood veneers between hinoki and Japanese cedar.

There is no big difference in the hue of the dyed Japanese cedar and hinoki cypress. But since the hinoki original material color is whitish, relatively, the hinoki is easier to dye than the Japanese cedar. What's more, strangely, the fragrance of the dyed cedar and cypress tends to be stronger than the their veneers before dyeing.

・We ensure high quality dye produced by a long-established manufacture in Kyoto, it is usually used for dyeing clothes, so there are no side effects concerning health.

・Since there is a possibility that the dye may leach out, please do not put high temperature objects such as pots directly on it. If possible please prevent liquids spills on the surface. In case of such circumstances, please wipe immediately with a dry cloth etc.

・Since wood veneer is a natural material, the shades and grain of each veneers are different so please enjoy these natural features.

Ichimatsu moyou (checkered)

Patterns in which two kinds of squares or rectangles of different colors are alternately arranged. It is said that in the middle of the Edo period, a Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu used hakama of this pattern and this pattern got spread and popular. In addition, the emblem of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic was designed with this checkered pattern as a motif.

Although this is a general pattern of fancy plywood, by using variety of different widths or combine colors, it can be expressed a variety of designs such as from chic to pop.
